Mr. Henderson was charged with First Degree murder. We negotiated a reduced charge. He was sentenced to 6 years.

Mr. Henderson was attacked at a bar by a group of people.  He fired a weapon one time striking a person and killing him.  The grand jury charged him with first degree murder.  We negotiated a reduced charge of second degree murder.  He was facing 45 years to life at 100% on the first degree murder charge.  He was only facing 4 to 20 years at 50% on the reduced charge.  He plead open to the charge (meaning there was no agreement on the sentence).  The court sentenced him to 6 years at 50%.  He will serve 2.5 years less the 200 days he has already served.  This is an excellent outcome for him.  He is very pleased.
