My client, who had been previously convicted of domestic battery, was charged with a felony version after his former girlfriend claimed he punched her. We believed she made the story up knowing that due to his past he would be put in a very bad position. She was right, he did get arrested, and had to fight his way to freedom. We announced ready and submitted all jury instructions / motions in limine as required. Our subpoenaes were served and at the last moment the State faxed us a dismissal order.
