Mr. Pennick was charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance (heroin) after being searched by police.  They found the heroin and a syringe on his person.  We negotiated a dismissal of the felony and a plea to the misdemeanor offense of drug paraphernalia.  He was not sentenced to probation.  His sentence was merely paying a $500.00 fine.
